Role Summary
Exciting opportunity to be a specialist Band 6 support nurse within our Multiple Myeloma service. You will coordinate and support patients and families living with multiple myeloma and related plasma cell disorders, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to manage the continuity of care.
Responsibilities
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients with multiple myeloma and related conditions.
* Develop specialist knowledge of disease processes and available treatments.
* Provide advice and clinical expertise on symptom management, telephone triage and management of treatment side effects.
* Carry a caseload and manage allocated cases, including a Band 6‑led treatment follow‑up clinic.
* Improve and maintain standards of care within the myeloma speciality.
* Develop the skills of ward and day unit nursing teams to ensure a high standard of care for myeloma patients.
Qualifications and Experience
Highly motivated nurse with excellent communication and time‑management skills, able to work in a fast‑paced environment. Further specialist training will be provided.
Employment Requirements
* Students on a Student visa are ineligible for full‑time permanent contracts unless they have applied for a Graduate visa or have completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date.
* Applicants from NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough who are at risk of redundancy will be prioritised over others, though interviews cannot be guaranteed.
