We are looking for a caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school and provide tailored support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs. Duties as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:
1. Provide individualised support to a pupil with identified SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH).
2. Support the pupil’s academic, social and emotional development in the classroom and during transitions.
3. Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement strategies and track progress.
4. Adapt resources and activities to meet the child’s needs.
5. Help build the pupil’s confidence, independence and self-regulation skills.
6. Foster a positive, safe and encouraging learning environment.
Ideal SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:
1. Has experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
2. Is patient, calm, and empathetic, with strong behaviour management skills.
3. Communicates clearly and effectively with children and adults.
4. Works well as part of a team, and is proactive and flexible as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant.
5. Is committed to supporting the inclusive values of the school.
