Job Title: Teaching Assistants (2 positions) Location: Chorley Contract Type: 8th September 2025 - May 2026 with the view of going permanent Age Range: 4-11 years About the School: Tradewind are proud to partner with a specialist primary school dedicated to children aged 4 to 11 years, all of whom have autism and severe learning difficulties (SLD). Within the school they have 10 children within Key Stage One. The school follows a pre-formal curriculum with a play-based approach, focusing primarily on developing prerequisite skills and communication. The school model is built around one-to-one support, where each child is paired consistently with a key adult to provide stability and tailored learning. The school also incorporate daily offsite activities such as swimming and trampolining, which are integral to their curriculum. The Role: Tradewind are looking to recruit two compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistants to join the team. You will work closely with individual children, supporting their learning, personal care needs, and participation in both onsite and offsite activities. The role includes elements of lone working, so the ability to work independently and responsibly is essential. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one support to children, acting as a key person for a designated child. Support children's communication and development through a play-based, pre-formal curriculum. Assist with personal care tasks as required. Accompany children on daily offsite activities such as swimming and trampolining. Work collaboratively with the teaching team to promote consistency and positive outcomes.Candidate Requirements: Experience working within early years education is essential. Ideally, experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly autism and SLD. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting children's individual needs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
