This is a full-time role working different shift patterns between the hours of 06:30 – 17:00 Monday-Friday, along with every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00. What You’ll Be Doing: Manage and support your team ensuring that company standards are met and colleagues are provided with guidance and feedback to improve performance Train and mentor new team members on company policies, procedures, and customer service best practices Key Holder and Alarm Response duties Maintain excellent standards across the yard, counter and shop floor Operate machinery safely and carry out key operational activities such as offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles Stock control – ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained, as well as various stock-take duties Acknowledge every customer, ascertain their needs and wow them with quick and efficient service Ask open questions to build strong relationships and understand our customers current and future requirements so we can support all their needs Provide advice on products and services with particular attention to cross-selling packages and services such as Project Estimator and Tool Hire Understand our approach to pricing and be able to communicate credible prices Support business initiatives to increase sales, margin & service as required Continually develop your knowledge of core and specialist product lines to meet customer needs What We’re Looking For: Experience in leading/ managing a team Builders Merchant experience is desirable but not essential Customer Service - High levels of customer satisfaction with frequently returning customers and growing live accounts Enthusiasm - You radiate positivity and possess an unyielding passion for the merchant world.
