Coventry City Council is seeking five experienced Advanced Practitioners to join our West Social Worker Caseholding Team. This plays a vital role supporting children and families across a range of statutory interventions including:
1. Children in Need (CIN)
2. Child Protection Plans (CP)
3. Looked After Children (LAC)
4. Section 20 amodation
5. Pre-proceedings and care proceedings
Your new role
You’ll be delivering high-quality social work services in line with legislative requirements and the Social Work England Code of Practice, working collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners to achieve the best oues for children and young people.
6. Manageplex caseloads involving CIN, CP, LAC, and court work
7. Lead and contribute to multi-agency planning and review meetings
8. Undertake direct work with children and families using solution-focused approaches
9. Prepare high-quality reports for conferences, courts, and panels
10. Maintain accurate and timely case records
11. Support exploitation and missing functions, including return home interviews
12. Work flexibly, including outside office hours when required
What you'll need to succeed
13. In-depth understanding of children’s legislation and statutory guidance
14. Experience in child protection, looked after children, and court proceedings
15. Familiarity with assessment and intervention models
16. Knowledge of equal opportunities and diversity in practice
17. Ability to incorporate research and theory into practice
Skills & Abilities:
18. Strongmunication and report-writing skills
19. Ability to managepeting priorities and work under pressure
20. Skilled in conflict resolution and direct work with children
21. Confident in using professional authority appropriately
22. Ability to work autonomously and seek supervision when needed
