Senior Occupational Therapist - Community

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist for the Isle of Ely Community Rehabilitation Team based at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Lynn Road, Ely, CB6 1DN. The role is suitable for an experienced OT.
This role is based in the Isle of Ely area. You would be working as part of a multidisciplinary team providing high quality rehabilitation to patients with physical disabilities in their home environment.
Main duties of the job
Note: For this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Public transport will not be used.
* Self‑motivated autonomous practitioner within the Community Rehabilitation team, providing high standard of care to patients.
* Assess, plan and develop specialist occupational therapy programmes for patients with a wide variety of complex needs.
* Responsible for own caseload, prioritising referrals according to clinical need, signposting appropriately and undertaking assessment of patients with complex and multiple pathologies using specialist clinical reasoning skills.
* Supervise junior staff and students, oversee patient intervention and ensure that Senior Therapy Assistants and Therapy Assistants deliver high quality patient care.

* Organise and manage own time, delegating work appropriately.
* Contribute to risk assessments, health and safety assessments and report any changes or newly identified risks.
* Demonstrate importance of gaining patient and carer consent in all interventions.
* Ensure accurate and timely written records are kept in compliance with the Trust policy and HCPC guidance, reporting on any issues as appropriate.

* Have mechanisms for dealing with stress; recognise when to use them and do so.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
Education and Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in OT (e.g., BSc, MSc or Diploma).
* Current HCPC registration.
* Documented evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
Experience
* Relevant post‑graduate clinical experience in a variety of settings.
* Experience as a clinical supervisor.
* Community experience.
* Acceptance of responsibility and accountability for own work and ability to define responsibilities of others.
* Recognition of limits of own authority within the role.
* Seeks and uses professional support appropriately.
* Understanding of the principle of confidentiality.
* Demonstrate professional responsibility.
* Experience with SystmOne.
