Come and work for the SBUHB Physiotherapy Service in beautiful Swansea Bay, with fabulous coastline, outdoor pursuits, and mountain walking all within easy travelling distance.
By joining our team in acute medicine and frailty, you will be afforded fantastic opportunities for CPD, teaching and mentoring through senior staff educated to Masters level, or above. We have long established links with multiple South Wales Universities, for undergrad and post- grad Physio education, including the provision of student placements.
Our team provides Physiotherapy services across the admissions units at Morriston hospital (ED, AMU, SDEC & Older Persons unit) and aims to deliver high quality assessment, intervention and discharge planning in collaboration with the MDT. We have an opportunity for an ambitious band 5 Physiotherapist to work within our team and rotate across our area.
Recently we have had many staff secure HEIW funding for post graduate study. We have strong relationships with the School of Health Science, and School of Medicine at Swansea University, both in terms of accessing post-grad courses, supporting research projects, and providing teaching and education to medical students.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties:
To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in hospital & community settings and on home visits.
To be an active participant in the On Call rota following a period of training and in compliance with our on-call policy. Contribute to an extended hours service (08:00-18:00) and 7-day working rota, as required.
To maintain clinical records and report accurately to others.
To develop skills and knowledge through participation in the band 5 Development Programme and competency framework.
To gain experience in the field of acute medicine and frailty by working across the admissions units at Morriston hospital and supporting the Physiotherapy service across the wider acute medical pathway.

Qualifications and knowledge

1. Diploma or degree in physiotherapy
2. Knowledge of working within the NHS
3. Basic knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance

4. Understanding of the fundamentals of Physiotherapy
5. Documented evidence of CPD/reflective practice.
6. Basic understanding of the significance of professional regulation e.g. HCPC, CSP
