About Hinkley Point C The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy. Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan. What you'll be doing As a/an Project Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities: Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. Ensuring all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations. Manage a set area within the Balance of Plant (BOP) on the HPC project. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, to drive the project to support the safe delivery of the areas on time, to the right quality to the highest safety standards. Ensure the appropriate deliverables are produced on time to ensure no delays to construction activities. Ensure all materials and tooling are delivered ready for construction activities Ensure Configuration Control is maintained across the scope Works Information. Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications. Raise technical queries and monitoring progress. Who we're looking for Who we're looking for; Relevant degree in construction or mechanical or electrical engineering, Or HND/HNC in construction or mechanical or electrical engineering (desirable) CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher. Professional accreditation (preferred).
