We’re looking for a People Advisor to join HydraB, based onsite in Central Oxford, five days per week.
About HydraB
HydraB is a group of businesses focused on accelerating the transition to net zero through a connected power ecosystem.
Across the group, we operate in areas including hydrogen, transport, energy infrastructure and clean technology. With multiple operating companies, the environment is varied and often complex, giving you exposure to different teams, challenges and ways of working.
The role
This is a hands‑on role supporting our group of businesses. You’ll work closely with managers and the wider People team to keep things running smoothly day to day, while helping bring more consistency to how we operate across the group.
What you’ll be doing
* Managing day-to-day HR admin across the employee lifecycle (contracts, changes, onboarding, leavers, HRIS updates)
* Supporting managers with first-line HR advice
* Handling straightforward ER cases (absence, conduct, probation) and escalating where needed
* Owning onboarding and making sure new joiners have a smooth start
* Keeping HR data accurate and pulling reports when needed
* Supporting on projects and helping improve processes
* Acting as a go‑to for general HR queries across the business
What we’re looking for
* Around 3–5+ years in an HR/Admin/People role, with some advisory experience
* Comfortable dealing with managers and handling day‑to‑day HR queries
* Good understanding of the employee lifecycle
* Strong attention to detail and organisation
* Confident using HR systems and Excel
* Awareness of UK employment law
* CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is a bonus
What you’ll get from the role
* Exposure to the full employee lifecycle, not just admin
* Opportunity to build confidence in ER and manager advisory
* Involvement in projects and process improvements, not just BAU
* Experience working across multiple businesses and stakeholders
Benefits include:
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays
* Private Medical Insurance (BUPA)
* Discretionary bonus
* Pension (matched up to 8%)
* 2x salary Life Assurance
* Income Protection (70% salary after 13 weeks)
* Employee Assistance Programme
* Electric car scheme & cycle to work
* Option to buy/sell up to 5 days leave
* Retail and lifestyle discounts
This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands‑on, takes pride in getting the detail right, and wants to build broader HR experience in a varied, multi‑entity environment.
HydraB is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all background
