Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our yard area, often involving tasks like loading and unloading deliveries, managing inventory, operating yard equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks), performing general maintenance, and ensuring the yard is safe and accessible to customers, all while adhering to safety regulations; this role typically requires physical strength and stamina for manual labour activities like lifting and moving heavy materials. Key responsibilities of a yard worker may include:
* Loading and unloading deliveries: Receiving and unloading materials from trucks and trailers, including checking for damage and verifying quantities.
* Inventory management: Keeping track of stock levels in the yard, ensuring proper storage and organization of materials.
* Yard maintenance: Cleaning and tidying the yard, removing debris, sweeping, and maintaining a safe working environment.
* Operating yard equipment: Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials around the yard.
* Customer service: Assisting customers with loading materials, answering questions about products, and maintaining positive customer interactions.
* Safety compliance: Following all safety procedures and reporting any hazards or accidents.

Qualifications
* Proven experience in materials handling and warehouse operations
* Proficiency in forklift operation

* Background in Roofing knowledge is a plus
