To support the Production Management team in overseeing and optimizing production processes, while developing the comprehensive understanding and strategic skills necessary to progress into a full Production Manager role. This position focuses on assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of production activities, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and gaining exposure to key aspects of production management, such as resource allocation, performance monitoring, and stakeholder communication, under the guidance of the Production Managers. The Development Production Manager will also play a role in fostering a positive and efficient work environment within assigned production areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the lead of the production team to achieve or exceed productivity targets.
2. Understand and support the control of costs within budgetary limits.
3. Help to build effective cross-functional team working relationships.
4. Manage team time and attendance using company procedures.
5. Identify quality issues and support resolution with the team and Quality Leader.
6. Proactively approach production planning to meet customer and budget needs.
7. Actively participate in safety audits and address issues.
8. Utilize resources efficiently to meet budgets.
9. Support and, at times, deliver communication briefings to the team.
10. Utilize and coach teams in lean manufacturing techniques.
11. Support all external audits, e.g., IATF, ISO9001.
12. Conduct regular performance meetings with team leaders.
13. Support safety initiatives and help the team achieve targets.
14. Respond to customer issues with detailed investigations and presentations.
15. Support training plans for team leaders.
16. Collaborate effectively with all functions to achieve KPIs.
17. Ensure and maintain quality standards within the production area.
18. Support the implementation of change management to minimize obsolescence.
19. Understand and support the regular communication of business KPIs to the SLT.
20. Actively seek opportunities to improve personal skills and knowledge.
