We are recruiting Risk Managers for our North West team in the Energy & Natural Resources division. This role requires presence at our client office in Warrington for 3 days per week.
Main Purpose of Role
A Risk Manager supports senior risk managers across work packages and projects of varying size and complexity. The role involves accurate capture of risk data, identification, assessment, and prioritisation of threats, opportunities, and issues, ensuring projects meet time, cost, and quality targets.
Key Accountabilities
* Plan, design, and implement risk management processes tailored to client needs and best practice.
* Facilitate risk workshops with subject matter experts.
* Create and maintain risk registers and other risk information.
* Challenge risk information to enhance the quality and robustness of risk data.
* Drive the implementation of mitigation actions across projects and programmes.
* Assist the project team in developing measurable and specific management responses.
* Conduct quantitative risk assessment and analysis (QRA) for cost and schedule impacts.
* Demonstrate competency with tools such as Safran, @risk, PSA, or similar.
* Produce timely risk reporting using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Power BI; familiarity with web‑based database/reporting tools such as ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau.
* Collaborate with other Project Controls disciplines to maintain alignment.
* Work with the supply chain to understand and incorporate supply‑chain risks.
Qualifications
Professional risk management experience across the full project lifecycle. Nuclear experience is desirable but not required. Strong communication, strategic awareness, and critical thinking skills are essential.
* Ability to obtain BPSS level security clearance.
* Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., Institute of Risk Management, Association for Project Management).
* Familiarity with at least one risk standard or approach (ISO 31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA).
* A risk qualification such as APM Risk Certificate Level 2 or Management of Risk (MoR) is desirable.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong research and analytical skills.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Experience working within a Project Controls team.
* Desire to work within the nuclear sector.
