Food & Beverage Supervisor (40 hours per week)
Reporting into: Food & Beverage Manager, Assistant F&B Manager, Assistant F&B Leader, Senior F&B Supervisor
Line Management of: Food & Beverage Shift Leaders, Food & Beverage Attendants
Job Purpose
As a Food & Beverage Supervisor at Delta Hotels by Marriott Preston, you play a key role in creating exceptional dining experiences that are memorable and unique. This role goes beyond simply delivering food and drinks — it’s about ensuring every guest enjoys warm, attentive service that reflects our brand standards.
You’ll lead and support the F&B team to deliver consistent, high-quality service across all outlets, including the restaurant, bar, room service, and conference & banqueting operations. You’ll assist management in team development — including recruitment, training, scheduling, performance management, and daily supervision — while maintaining operational excellence and compliance with all company policies and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
* Provide warm, engaging, and professional service to all guests, ensuring their needs are anticipated and met promptly.
* Lead by example in creating a welcoming atmosphere — greeting guests with genuine hospitality and ensuring consistent service delivery.
* Resolve guest concerns or complaints effectively and professionally, following company service recovery procedures (LEARN).
* Support the team in delivering personalized experiences, recognizing repeat guests, and maintaining brand loyalty.
* Ensure all guest feedback is communicated to management and used to drive service improvements.
Operational Excellence
* Supervise daily F&B operations across restaurant, bar, room service, and conference/banqueting areas.
* Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverage orders.
* Ensure all areas are maintained to brand cleanliness and presentation standards throughout service periods.
* Assist with setup and breakdown of service areas, including events and banquets, following Banqueting Event Orders (BEOs).
* Oversee alcohol service compliance in line with local laws and company policy.
* Support inventory management, ordering, and stock control processes as directed.
* Ensure all operational equipment is used safely, stored correctly, and maintained properly.
* Promote upselling opportunities and contribute to achieving revenue targets.
Team Leadership & Development
* Supervise, coach, and motivate the F&B team to deliver consistent and exceptional service.
* Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
* Conduct shift briefings, allocate daily tasks, and ensure staff adherence to company standards.
* Foster a positive and collaborative team environment built on respect, communication, and teamwork.
* Lead by example in maintaining professional conduct, appearance, and communication at all times.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure all F&B operations comply with food hygiene, health and safety, and licensing regulations.
* Report and respond to accidents, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly.
* Promote safe working practices and ensure team members are trained and compliant with PPE and handling procedures.Participate in mandatory training and certification as required by the hotel.
Communication & Collaboration
* Build positive relationships with colleagues and other hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Communicate effectively and respectfully with guests, colleagues, and managers.
* Contribute to departmental meetings and actively share ideas for operational improvement.
* Uphold company values and promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and teamwork.
Cash & Bank Handling
* Process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies.
* Follow property control audit standards and cash handling procedures (e.g., blind drops).
* Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank.
* Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, obtaining change required for expected business level, and keeping bank secure at all times.
* Transport bank to/from assigned workstation, following security procedures.
* Harri, Micros, or any other systems access cards/passwords must not be left unattended under any circumstances, not shared, and stored appropriately while off duty.
Working Pattern
* Work flexibly on a scheduled shift rota across Monday – Sunday, including public holidays.
* Be adaptable to cover staffing shortfalls and business priorities to ensure operational continuity.
* Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
