Dakota Hotel based in South Queensferry, Edinburgh are seeking an experienced front of house professional for the role of Hotel Duty Manager, responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the hotel.

CONTRACT AND PAY RATE

The gross annual salary is £30,000. The role carries a permanent contract for 42.5 hours per week, with an earliest start time of 07:00 am and latest finish time of 23:00 pm, working any 5 days out of 7, including weekends.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

* Lead the team to provide a consistently high level of guest service, ensuring all guests receive special attention and recognition.
* Welcome guests to Dakota, supporting the reception team with check-in and check-out, making reservations, and handling guest billing.
* Maintain a strong relationship with the Bar & Grill Reservations, Housekeeping, and Front of House Manager to coordinate guest details and events.

As the appointed Duty Manager, key responsibilities include:

* Coordinating communication between departments, reporting absences, and hosting the morning briefing.
* Managing guest feedback, including resolving complaints and maintaining knowledge of guests.
* Leading the Hotel through emergency evacuations and crisis situations, including being a first aider and lead fire warden.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicant will have:

* At least 2 years of experience working in a front of house role of a 4* or 5* hotel in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
* A minimum of 4 years of experience working in a hotel environment.
* A minimum of 1 year of experience as a hotel Duty Manager (preferable).
* Hands-on approach to all aspects of the role, available to work flexible shifts, and present in the business during peak times.
* Ability to work at pace through service times and be proactive for the duration of the shift.
