Job responsibilities To use specialist knowledge across the medical education curricula, to compile teaching programmes which meet contractual and quality requirements and support the wellbeing and pastoral challenges of Doctors in Training. To provide expert knowledge with particular emphasis on Higher Speciality Trainees and their education and training needs to Care Groups to support the Trusts business and delivery of Postgraduate Medical Education. To identify high quality performance and any risks and issues that may affect the standards expected as outlined in the Medical Education Strategy and Postgraduate Training Programmes, whilst supporting Clinical Care Groups to balance the service needs of the organisation with the educational needs of junior doctors in training, and their relevant training curriculam. To ensure evidence and systems are in place for robust reporting and quality assurance for the organisation other external bodies as required. Cover the geographical area overseen by the Medical Education Department that is, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust and to develop appropriate links working in partnership with Newcastle Medical School, NHS England Education, Lead Employer Trust, Tees and Esk Wear Valley NHS Trust and local general practitioners. Required to travel to all Trust sites.
