Job Description
Almond Enterprises Limited (AEL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Almond HA, a social enterprise that has been providing cleaning and environmental services throughout West Lothian for over fifteen years. AEL is now seeking voluntary Board Members to help steer its strategic direction and growth, maximizing its positive impact on the local community. The role carries no financial remuneration, but travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Background
AEL has achieved significant milestones since its inception and now has the capability and resources to deliver greater community benefit. Working closely with the Almond HA Board and senior management, AEL will support planned and cyclical maintenance programmes, and explore opportunities to expand services, create training and employability prospects, and improve terms and conditions for its workforce.
Role
The Board member role is an exciting opportunity to lead AEL through a period of substantial growth, supporting the three‑year Business Plan. Commitments, enthusiasm and experience will be valuable assets. We especially welcome candidates with knowledge or experience in the following areas:
* Managing and delivering property-related services
* Finance
* Legal
* Third sector knowledge
Previous board experience is not required – induction and training will be provided. The Board meets remotely twice a year and twice in person, typically in the early evening.
