Overview
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and well-organised Science Support Technician to provide assistance to the school’s Science Technician service and the wider Science Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic department in a successful oversubscribed selective school for boys. Ideally, you will have experience in a laboratory environment or working in a school environment.

Salary: Bucks Pay Range 2 currently £24,879 to £26,961 per annum (FTE) - Actual pro-rata salary range £21,099 to £22,865 per annum.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 INSET days) 8:00am-4:00pm on Monday to Thursday and 3.30pm finish on Friday.

The JHGS Science Department is a lively and dedicated team of science specialists who strive to produce students who are excellent scientists, resilient with new challenges, curious about the world in which we live, ambitious with potential and open-minded when approaching new situations.
The Science Support Technician is an integral member of the team providing assistance in the practical needs of the curriculum preparing apparatus and chemicals, conducting lab checks, restocking consumables and liaising with teaching staff and technical staff outside of the department. Ideally, you will have experience working in a laboratory environment.
About you
The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
They will be adaptable with the ability to work independently.
They must be flexible as they will be supporting the other technicians across biology, chemistry and physics when workloads are high.
They will also be a reliable team player who is willing to make a full contribution to the department.
