The Role
An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Client Director to join their team in Ferndown. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while supporting the development of junior team members.
The successful candidate will work closely with a wide range of clients including contractors, freelancers and SMEs, delivering a high level of client service and technical support across accounts and tax matters.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a portfolio of clients and building strong professional relationships
* Reviewing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations
* Overseeing VAT returns and ensuring filing deadlines are met
* Supervising and mentoring junior members of staff
* Supporting bookkeeping, VAT and accounts production processes
* Attending client meetings and assisting with onboarding new business
* Allocating workloads across the accounts team and monitoring workflow
* Maintaining high service standards and internal turnaround times
Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience within UK accountancy practice
* AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified
* Experience managing client relationships and handling a portfolio
* Strong understanding of accounts preparation and taxation
* Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Able to work independently and within a fast-paced team environment
* Confident using Microsoft Office and cloud-based accounting software
