UWE Graduate interns x 2 – Discovery and Resourcing Team, Library and Learning Services
Grade C • Fixed term 12 months • Applicants must be recent UWE, Bristol graduates who are graduating in their first degree in summer 2026 or who have graduated in their first degree in 2025 or 2024.
About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for two recent UWE Bristol graduates to get real‑world, hands‑on experience working in a busy, dynamic team within a large academic library. The Discovery and Resourcing team ensures content and the systems that support access to that content are effectively managed so that students and staff can access what they need, when they need it.
Content and Discovery Intern Responsibilities
* Support academic staff using the Reading List software and produce training/promotional materials.
* Review reading lists, verify links, request items not in stock and recommend digitisation where appropriate.
* Place orders for information resources on the Library Management System (Alma).
* Run statistical reports following predefined instructions, e.g. collate usage statistics to support collections management decision‑making.
* Use the Library Management System and Content Management System for record maintenance and library material management.
Open Research Services Intern Responsibilities
* Check items added to the university’s open access repository to ensure alignment with the University’s Research Publications Policy, funder policies or publisher policies.
* Liaise with research staff and students to support their use of the university’s research repository.
* Answer first‑ and second‑line enquiries relating to open research, including triaging queries in the Open Research Service team mailbox.
* Use the university’s repositories on Worktribe and ePrints and develop knowledge of these systems.
About You
* Strong communicator with attention to detail, who enjoys working with others and using creativity to achieve results.
* Desire to learn, flexible approach and positive attitude.
* Good understanding of customer service and excellent organisational skills.
* Good IT skills including Microsoft 365 tools such as Outlook, Excel, Teams and confidence in conducting web‑based searches.
* Graduating from UWE, Bristol in your first degree in summer 2026 or graduated in your first degree in 2025 or 2024.
