Role
Stour Surgery is a welcoming, supportive GP practice serving a growing list of 10,800 patients. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated GP to provide maternity leave cover for 2 sessions per week, starting September 2026.
Ideally cover would be provided on a Monday, but this can be negotiated.

Key responsibilities will involve providing consultations for acute and chronic conditions and undertaking clinical administration related to patient care.

Stour Surgery is a well-established, friendly, teaching practice with a committed team.
Our team includes 3 GP Partners and 4 Salaried GPs, experienced Practice Nurses, HCAs and Clinical Pharmacists. Our clinicians work closely alongside our non-clinical team which includes our Practice Manager, Office Manager and Reception & Admin staff who help the practice run smoothly.
We are based in Christchurch, Dorset, which is close to the New Forest, and offers excellent access to stunning beaches for a great variety of water sports or those summer evening strolls.
We work alongside our Christchurch colleagues (Highcliffe MC, Farmhouse Surgery & Christchurch MP) to form Christchurch Primary Care Network and as part of the Integrated Community Primary Care Services project where our team are working with housebound patients to reduce the risk of admission and help with acute visits.
Some of the additional services we provide include onsite Phlebotomy and access to both a MSK and Mental Health Practitioners.
