A leading UK law firm in Bristol is seeking an Associate to join its Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced family law solicitor or legal executive to join a highly regarded practice with a strong reputation for client care and technical excellence.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of privately funded family law matters, with a particular focus on private law children and domestic abuse work. You will deliver high-quality legal advice in a commercially aware and empathetic manner, ensuring exceptional client service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of private family law matters efficiently and effectively
* Provide clear, pragmatic advice to clients, managing expectations regarding outcomes, risk, and timescales
* Scope and manage fees for existing clients
* Demonstrate strong market and sector knowledge, building your expertise within family law
* Assist in developing and maintaining a strong risk management culture within the team
* Build and maintain internal and external client and intermediary networks
* Contribute to business development by attending networking events, writing articles, and speaking at seminars
* Support with departmental pitches and marketing initiatives
* Supervise and mentor junior team members as required
* Meet individual performance targets and KPIs
* Support budgetary management of client matters
Key Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with proven experience in private law children and domestic abuse work
* Experience handling both legal aid and privately funded cases
* Strong client relationship management skills with a focus on delivering outstanding service
* Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development
* Ability to manage own workload and delegate effectively
* Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers (desirable)
