Were looking for compassionate, motivated and engaging individuals to join our team as Sessional Support Workers & Advisors. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality stop smoking support across Lancashire, helping people achieve lasting change through evidence‑based interventions and personalised support.
Working as part of a dedicated and experienced team, youll support people throughout their quit journey, providing encouragement, practical guidance and the tools they need to succeed.
About the Role
As a Sessional Support Worker & Advisor, youll deliver stop smoking interventions across Lancashire, both face‑to‑face within local communities and remotely where appropriate.
Working alongside Tobacco Addiction Specialist Nurses and Community Engagement colleagues, youll provide person‑centred support that empowers individuals to make positive lifestyle changes and achieve their goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering one‑to‑one and group‑based stop smoking interventions.
* Conducting assessments and developing tailored quit plans.
* Using motivational interviewing techniques to encourage and sustain behaviour change.
* Providing behavioural support throughout an individuals quit journey.
* Dispensing Nicotine Replacement Therapy in line with service protocols and training.
* Building positive relationships within local communities to increase engagement with the service.
* Supporting wider service delivery activities to ensure a consistent and responsive service.
About You
Were looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others improve their health and wellbeing.
You will bring:
* Excellent communication and engagement skills.
* The ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse range of people.
* Experience delivering support, advice or interventions within health, wellbeing, social care, public health or a related setting.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
* A commitment to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred services.
* Confidence working independently whilst contributing positively to a wider team.
Experience of behaviour change approaches, smoking cessation services, health improvement or motivational interviewing would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
Salary Range (pro rata if part time)
£15.61/Hr.
