We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Team Member to join our Team in Trafford Park. The process operator will be reporting to the Team Shift Manager and operate processes within the wheat plant in a controlled safe and environmentally compliant manner to achieve the business requirements and serve the needs of our customers. They will endeavour that the process is operated in the most efficient manner and look to resolve issues in a proactive manner. The operator also forms part of the process shift team and will work closely with other interrelated groups on site such as refinery plant and ethanol operations. They will report into the Team Shift Manager.
SHIFT PATTERN;
4 on 4 off & 4 on 6 off
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Daily monitoring and review of process performance both from DCS and in plant
2. Ensure production targets are met including yield and efficiencies and area KPI’s
3. Using central computerized Screens to monitor and control plant in line with daily goals
4. Interpretation of data and troubleshooting of unit operation
5. Maintaining and improving housekeeping standards
6. Assisting other team members as required
7. Learning all 3 processes within the wheat plant and rotating between roles periodically to keep skills to date
8. Ensure Cargill standards for health and safety/ food safety and environmental issues are maintained
9. Ensure the process is controlled and maintained to remain within all operational safety and design limits
10. Isolate and prepare process plant for maintenance activities
11. Report issue w.r.t safety/ food safety /health and safety
12. Participate in behavioral safety program
13. Taking samples of products
14. Basic laboratory checks on product
15. Completing written records detailing information for ISO and Food Safety Standards
16. Front line maintenance activities
17. Raise Work orders to rectify defects within channel
18. Partake continuous improvement activities 5Why, 5S, Operator Care, IDEX
Minimum Required Qualifications
19. Strong experience in centrally controlled process operation environment using computerized screens to monitor and control a plant
20. Proven experience in production
21. Excellent understanding of Food Safety and Quality Standards, and Health and Safety
22. 5 GCSE’s grade A-C (including English and Maths) or equivalent
23. Strong communication skills and ability to coach colleagues
24. IT literate
25. Proactive attitude, and willingness to be accountable for performance
26. Ability to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner
27. Awareness of ‘TQM’ principles and ‘TQM’ in practice (Reliability Excellence)
28. In process analysis experience
29. Front line maintenance experience, preferably proved in a process plant environment
Preferred Qualifications
30. Levels 2/ 3 in Process Operation
31. Basic chemistry knowledge, GCSE or equivalent
32. Experience in wheat processing
