Overview
We are currently recruiting an experienced Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to support a Food Safety contract based in the West Midlands.
This is an initial 3–4 month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension, offering a competitive hourly rate and a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Details
* Rate: £45 per hour
* Contract Length: 3–4 months initially (expected extension)
* Start Date: Immediate
* Location: West Midlands
* Working Pattern: 3 days per week on-site / office-based
Responsibilities
* Conduct food hygiene inspections of a wide range of premises in line with the Food Safety Act and associated legislation
* Intervene appropriately to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
* Investigate complaints and food-related incidents
* Provide professional advice and guidance to food business operators
* Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain case records
Requirements
* Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
* EHRB registration (or equivalent)
* Proven experience delivering food safety inspections within a local authority setting
* Strong working knowledge of current food safety legislation and enforcement procedures
* Ability to work independently and manage a varied inspection workload
