Job Summary
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at Purdue University, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position of Lecturer at their West Lafayette location effective Fall 2025. A successful candidate for the position of lecturer will be expected to provide instructional support for the College of Engineering's program by directly teaching courses from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering curricula. The lecturer will hold primary responsibility for teaching, and assessment. The lecturer will also be responsible for supervising graduate teaching assistants, and undergraduate teaching assistants assigned to their courses.
Lecturer will be expected to teach up to 3 courses persemester in large enrollment classes.
Responsibilities
* Teach up to 3 courses per semester in large enrollment classes.
* Provide instructional support for courses from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering curricula.
* Hold primary responsibility for teaching and assessment.
* Supervise graduate teaching assistants and undergraduate teaching assistants assigned to their courses.
Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum of a MS degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
* Minimum of five years working in engineering or education.
* Preference for experience in a professional setting or a teaching setting.
* Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds, and a motivating and inspiring presence.
* Expected to contribute to ongoing course development.
* Expertise in teaching, strong communication and interpersonal skills, project management, organizational skills, and knowledge of some areas of Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering.
* Knowledge of common office computer systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
* Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
