A friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Worthing is looking for a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with complex learning and behavioural needs. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
About the Role
* Supporting a child throughout the school day to access learning and routines
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow tailored support strategies
* Encouraging emotional regulation, communication, and independence
* Using visual aids, sensory tools, and consistent routines to support engagement
Helping create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, SEMH)
* A calm, positive approach to behaviour and emotional support
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Patience, empathy, and a willingness to learn
Reliability and a genuine interest in child development
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience in EYFS or KS1
* Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or sensory integration
Relevant training (e.g. Autism Awareness, Team Teach, safeguarding)
