Lead Software Engineer – Manchester / Hybrid – up to £75,000

Whether you’re already operating at a lead level or ready to take that next step, you’ll play a key role in shaping the direction of projects, guiding developers, and delivering high-quality software that makes a real-world impact.
You’ll be involved across the full software development lifecycle, from early-stage requirements and architectural design through to implementation, cloud deployment, and ongoing improvement. Alongside this, you’ll take ownership of key initiatives, lead projects, and help drive best practices across the engineering function.
Working closely with the Head of Development, you’ll act as a technical leader within a collaborative, cross-functional team building the next generation of products.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading the design and delivery of scalable, production-ready software solutions
* Mentoring and supporting developers, helping them grow technically and professionally
* Taking ownership of projects, driving them from concept through to delivery
* Contributing to architectural decisions and technical strategy
* Working across a modern tech stack with a strong focus on cloud-first development (Azure)
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features
* Promoting engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
* Strong experience delivering robust software solutions in a commercial environment
* Proven experience in leading projects and mentoring others
* Experience with modern Microsoft technologies such as .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core
* Cloud experience, ideally with Azure (or similar platforms like AWS)
* Front-end exposure (JavaScript frameworks or modern UI technologies)
* A broad technical mindset with the ability to adapt and solve complex problems
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first approach
