We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team in Wellingborough as an enthusiastic and motivated support worker to provide care and support for 6 individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and other support requirements to enjoy an excellent quality of life in a residential care home. The service is located close to Wellingborough town centre with onsite staff parking and good transport links. The large Victorian house has an expansive garden for residents to enjoy in warmer weather. Residents are sociable and active and benefit from interaction with staff and community activities.
Responsibilities
* Assist with daily living skills (e.g., cooking, shopping, using public transport) and provide emotional support for residents and their families
* Support personal care with dignity and administer medication as required
* Help with paperwork and ensure the service runs smoothly
* Support residents with activities they enjoy (e.g., walks, shopping, day trips, arts and crafts, board games) and assist with managing the home environment to reflect residents’ preferences
* Work shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and Christmas day
* Assist with budgeting and finances, cooking and meal preparation
Requirements
* Previous experience with learning disabilities or autism is not essential; full training will be provided
* Must be able to demonstrate a warm, caring personality with a positive, proactive approach
