School Social Worker
Winnipeg School Division (WSD) is the largest school division in Manitoba and provides a wide range of multi‑disciplinary services within a three‑tiered support model. The School Social Worker applies a strengths‑based, student‑centered, and inclusive approach rooted in decolonization, reconciliation, Indigenous ways of knowing, and anti‑racist/anti‑oppressive pedagogy to remove barriers to student learning and support students and families.
Responsibilities
The role includes cultural and trauma‑informed assessment, personalized programming, therapeutic interventions, professional consultation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, administrators, and external partners. The social worker will maintain an active presence within the school environment, advocate for students, coordinate services, and facilitate family engagement.
Qualifications
* Registered with the Manitoba College of Social Workers
* Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (Master’s preferred)
* Eligible for or in possession of a current School Clinician Certificate in Social Work
* Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle access
* Advanced knowledge and experience navigating family‑support systems, including child welfare
* Active participation within a school environment and effective collaboration and communication on a multidisciplinary team
