Refrigeration Engineer
I'm currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity in Market Drayton for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join a well-established engineering team at a busy manufacturing site. This is a brilliant role for someone with strong refrigeration experience who thrives in a hands-on environment.
What's the role about?
This position is all about keeping the site's refrigeration systems running smoothly from daily maintenance and repairs to urgent breakdowns and system diagnostics. It's varied, it's busy, and it's ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership and working as part of a tight-knit, supportive team.
You'll be dealing with Freon, CO₂, and Ammonia systems, supporting everything from minor fixes to site-wide projects, and there's plenty of opportunity to get involved in wider engineering and site support work too.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Daily maintenance and troubleshooting of refrigeration and FGAS systems
2. Responding to breakdowns and identifying issues quickly
3. Logging all work via a CMMS (HolisTech)
4. Managing and monitoring external contractors on site
5. Supporting with general facilities repairs (doors, barriers, fabrication)
6. Helping the wider engineering team on key projects and improvements
7. Providing paid on-call breakdown support out of hours when required
Who would be a great fit?
I'm looking for a multiskilled refrigeration engineer with hands-on experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Here's what you'll need to bring:
8. Category 1 FGAS certification
9. Experience working with Freon, and ideally Ammonia and CO₂ systems
10. Level 2 qualifications in Refrigeration (and ideally Electrical as well)
11. Strong fault-finding skills and familiarity with control panels/inverters
12. Confident using MS Office and maintenance systems like HolisTech
13. A logical, proactive approach and solid communication skills
What's in it for you?
This is a permanent, full-time role working Mon-Fri (8:30am-5pm):
14. £45,000 salary
15. Ongoing training and development
16. Two paid volunteering days a year
17. Discount scheme for retailers and well-being platform access
18. 24/7 support via Grocery Aid
19. Strong company pension
20. A positive, inclusive working environment where your input is genuinely valued
If this sounds like the right fit for your next move or if you'd like to hear more don't hesitate to get in touch. I'd be happy to talk through the role and the wider team in more detail.
