Job Description
Principal Oracle EPM Cloud (Planning) Consultant
You must be SC Cleared or eligible for SC Clearance. To be eligible you must have 5 years UK residency.
Shape the Future of Enterprise Planning
Lead. Influence. Deliver at Scale.
Are you a senior Oracle EPM Planning expert operating at — or ready to step into — a true principal-level leadership role ?
Version 1, the UK & Ireland’s leading Oracle ERP and Cloud Transformation partner, is seeking an exceptional Principal Oracle EPM Cloud Planning Consultant to lead some of our most complex and strategically significant planning and budgeting programmes across government, public sector, and enterprise clients.
This is not a delivery-only role. It’s an opportunity to operate as a trusted advisor, technical authority, and programme leader, shaping enterprise planning strategies and influencing outcomes at executive level.
The Opportunity
As a Principal Consultant, you’ll sit at the intersection of strategy, delivery, and leadership. You’ll guide clients through end-to-end Oracle Planning Cloud transformations — from early vision and solution shaping through to implementation, optimisation, and long-term roadmap development.
You’ll lead multi-disciplinary teams, influence senior finance stakeholders, and set the standard for quality, governance, and best practice across the EPM Planning domain.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Programme & Delivery Leadership
Own the full lifecycle of large-scale Oracle Planning Cloud programmes
Lead multiple workstreams, ensuring delivery against scope, timelines, quality and value
Provide strong governance, risk management and executive-level reporting
Solution Design & Technical Authority
Act as the principal design authority for Oracle Planning Cloud (PBCS / EPBCS)
Lead solution architecture across models, calculations, allocations, forms, dashboards and reporting
Drive advanced capability using Smart View, Data Management, Groovy rules, REST APIs and automation
Design connected planning solutions across Finance, FP&A, Workforce, CapEx and operational planning
Review and assure delivery quality across senior and mid-level consultants
Client Advisory & Stakeholder Influence
Build trusted relationships with CFOs, Finance Directors and Transformation Sponsors
Lead executive workshops and design sessions, challenging thinking and guiding best-practice outcomes
Translate complex technical solutions into clear, business-focused narratives
Pre-Sales, Growth & Thought Leadership
Lead pre-sales activity including solution shaping, proposals, demos and bid responses
Support pipeline development alongside Sales and Practice Leadership
Contribute to Version 1 accelerators, reusable assets and thought leadership initiatives
Team Leadership & Capability Development
Mentor and coach consultants across the Oracle EPM practice
Support capability strategy, recruitment and continuous improvement
Champion Version 1 values, culture and standards of excellence
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
Essential Experience
Extensive hands-on experience delivering Oracle Planning Cloud (PBCS / EPBCS), including multiple full-lifecycle implementations
Proven leadership of complex, multi-stream planning transformation programmes
Strong technical expertise across planning models, calculations, allocations, dashboards, Smart View, Data Management, Groovy and REST integrations
Exceptional communication, facilitation and presentation skills with senior finance stakeholders
Ability to influence decision-making, manage complexity and deliver under pressure
Experience mentoring consultants and leading delivery teams
Strong commercial awareness with exposure to pre-sales and bid activity
Desirable Experience
Experience with other Oracle EPM Cloud modules (FCCS, ARCS, PCMCS, EDMCS, Narrative or Tax Reporting)
Background in finance, accountancy or FP&A
Experience migrating from Hyperion Planning to Oracle EPM Cloud
Ready to Lead at the Highest Level?
If you’re an experienced Oracle EPM Planning leader looking to take ownership of complex transformation programmes and make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.
