Job Title: Facilities Manager
Salary: Competitive (DOE) + car allowance and bonus
Location: St Athan, Vale of Glamorgan
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are recruiting on behalf of our client who are a market leading service provider for. They are on the lookout for an experience Facilities and Compliance Manager to take ownership of cleaning operations, waste management, and environmental compliance at a key industrial site.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day facilities operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance across site
- Manage contractor performance, monitoring service delivery against KPIs, SLAs, and health & safety standards
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality checks, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly
- Coordinate waste management and recycling activities, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal processes
- Monitor waste volumes, recycling performance, and environmental impact, driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records, including compliance documentation, audit logs, and performance data
- Produce regular KPI and performance reports for internal stakeholders and customers
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, including risk assessments, COSHH, and safe systems of work
- Deliver training, toolbox talks, and guidance to support safe and effective operations
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions
- Manage site supplies, equipment, and consumables to support operational delivery
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, responding to queries and resolving issues professionally
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to support service delivery and continuous improvement
- Support sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, recycling improvements, and carbon reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and compliance standards across site
Skills / Experience:
- Proven experience in facilities, soft services, waste management, or a similar operational environment
- Strong understanding of compliance, audits, and health & safety regulations (IOSH or equivalent desirable)
- Experience producing and working with risk assessments, RAMS, and operational procedures
- Confident managing contractors, suppliers, and service delivery performance
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Resilient and solutions-focused, with the ability to handle challenges and resolve issues effectively
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience within manufacturing, waste, or environmental settings is advantageous
- Relevant qualifications in waste, environmental, or compliance disciplines are beneficial
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally
