What you'll be doing
* Handling a high volume of customer contacts across telephone, email, live chat, social media and face‑to‑face, supporting approximately 240,000 domestic properties across Sheffield
* Processing customer requests, complaints and enquiries accurately and efficiently, ensuring they are logged in line with contractual obligations and SLAs
* Resolving customer complaints at the first point of contact, carrying out callbacks and keeping customers informed of resolution timescales
* Liaising with internal teams such as Operations and Systems Support to ensure work is completed and databases are updated accordingly
* Processing payments, HWRC permit applications, assisted collection requests and Variation Order paperwork
* Contributing to customer satisfaction monitoring and supporting the retention of the Customer Service Excellence (CSE) Accreditation
What we're looking for
* A minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above
* Previous call centre or customer service experience, with the ability to meet call handling targets and work to challenging deadlines
* Strong IT skills including experience with email and Microsoft Office programmes
* Excellent communication skills with a professional, friendly and calm approach – particularly when handling difficult or complex situations
* Highly organised with the ability to multitask, prioritise your workload and work on your own initiative
* A team player with a genuine commitment to delivering high‑quality customer service
* A Customer Services NVQ Level 2 and experience in a similar industry would be a bonus
