Approximate pro rata £17,408 - £18,170 per annum ( 0.69309 FTE) About us and the role We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Communications Assistant to join our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) team, supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs and/or Autism. Working under the guidance of the SRP Lead Teacher, you will deliver tailored learning programmes, assist in setting and reviewing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and help pupils access the curriculum as outlined in their EHCPs. The role includes supporting personal care needs, encouraging independence, and fostering social interaction and engagement across SRP and mainstream settings. You’ll also help prepare learning environments, liaise with parents and professionals, and contribute to safeguarding and school policies. Proven experience working with children, particularly those with Speech, Language and Communication Needs and/or Autism, within an educational setting. Strong literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both spoken and written form. Good understanding of child development, learning processes, and strategies to overcome barriers to learning. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and adults, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism.
