Interimpany Accountant (6‑Month Contract)Location: Exeter

Hays are working with a growing organisation in Exeter is seeking an experienced Interimpany Accountant to provide immediate support across financial accounting, statutorypliance, tax filings, and month‑end close. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical skills and the ability to work at pace within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage month‑end close, journals, accruals, reconciliations, and accounting adjustments.
2. Prepare and submit VAT, corporation tax, and statutory returns.
3. Ensurepliance with UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
4. Liaise with external auditors and advisors.
5. Support budgeting, forecasting, andmercial analysis.
6. Maintain internal controls and contribute to process improvements.
Skills & Experience
7. Fully/part‑qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or strong QBE.
8. Solid experience in financial accounting, taxpliance, and month‑end.
9. Strong knowledge of UK tax and statutory reporting.
10. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
11. Confident working with stakeholders and external auditors.
12. Proficient in accounting software and Excel.

13. Able to hit the ground running in a hands‑on interim role.
14. Experienced with audits, year‑end, or tax cycles.
