Job Description
Wood is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager with Pre‑FEED, FEED & EPC/EPCm experience in Pharmaceutical, Specialty Chemicals, Life Sciences, Petrochemical, O&G Projects. We consider staff or contract basis.
The Role
You will be based in our Glasgow office alongside the existing Wood Engineering Team to ensure delivery excellence across assigned projects/portfolios, providing project certainty and confidence to our clients, and ensuring robust control of project scope, schedule, cost and risk. Hybrid working is expected, with 3 days from our Glasgow office.

Responsibilities
* Manage and lead a large multi‑discipline Engineering Team
* Experience in complex Project Scope management and contract management
* Familiar with project work sequence, activities, and deliverables for Engineering Disciplines at any project phase with contract knowledge
* Overall ownership of the engineering schedule and progress of each discipline
* Ensure Wood’s Quality Management Systems support deliverables preparation and execution methods
* Generate and authorize key documents including those directing Engineering strategy and implementation
* Understand and manage Technical Engineering Disciplines and associated Scope
* Issue instructions to allow work to progress, facilitate agreement between conflicting requirements and lead the way forward
* Challenge working methods and deliverables, ensuring the project team complies with scope
* Develop and manage the engineering input to the project schedule, and drive the Engineering Team to meet milestones and Key Performance Indicators
* Ensure requirements for Design Verification are identified, scheduled, and resourced
* Understand the project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSSE) issues and handle them correctly
* Experience managing work executed out of High Value Execution Centres
* Identify risk and implement mitigations
* Periodic travel to site (UK only) required
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Discipline
* Prior background in a technical function and project engineering across a range of projects
* Engineering Management experience with some site experience
* Extensive experience in an appropriate industry (ideally Pharmaceutical, EC&I Infrastructure, Power, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals and Chemicals)
* Proven track record in Engineering Management and leading multi‑discipline engineering teams
* Commercially astute and understand the approaches required to managing lump sum and reimbursable work
* Broad technical knowledge combined with excellent leadership skills
