About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Pre-Litigation Housing Disrepair Fee Earner to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in pre-lit HDR claims who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for tenants.
You will manage your own caseload of pre-litigation housing disrepair matters, working closely with clients, landlords, and surveyors to progress claims efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a pre-litigated caseload of Housing Disrepair matters from instruction to settlement or issue.
* Assess new claims for prospects, evidence, and compliance with the Housing Disrepair Protocol.
* Draft letters of claim and other pre-action correspondence.
* Liaise with clients, landlords, experts, and third parties to obtain reports and negotiate settlements.
* Ensure all cases are progressed in line with internal targets and deadlines.
* Maintain accurate records on the firm’s case management system (e.g., Proclaim).
* Deliver high standards of client care and communication at all times.
Requirements
* Minimum 12 months’ experience in pre-litigation housing disrepair claims.
* Strong understanding of the Pre-Action Housing Disrepair Protocol.
* Excellent negotiation, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and efficiently.
* Experience using case management systems (Proclaim desirable).
* A proactive approach and genuine commitment to achieving fair outcomes for clients.
