Job Title: EYFS Support Assistant
Location: Christchurch
Are you passionate about early childhood education and making a positive impact on young learners? Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team of EYFS Support Assistants in Christchurch.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Assist the class teacher in creating a stimulating and safe learning environment for children aged 1 to 5 years
* Support the development of children’s social, emotional, and cognitive skills through age-appropriate activities and play
* Work with small groups or individual children to provide additional support and guidance as needed
* Help maintain a tidy and organised classroom, preparing resources and materials for daily activities
* Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a nurturing and inclusive learning community.
Requirements:
* Relevant experience working with young children, ideally within an early years setting
* A genuine passion for early childhood education and a desire to contribute to children’s development
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children and adults
* Understanding of the EYFS framework and its principles
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the classroom.
Desired Qualifications:
* Minimum of a Level 2 Early Years qualification (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)
* Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo one
* Valid references from previous employers
