Job Description
PURPOSE
To lead a cross-functional product team of developers and testers, delivering high quality digital and business solutions that meet user and organisational objectives.
To focus on team leadership, collaboration and delivery as well as hands-on technical development. The Product Team Leader will encourage an agile mindset, support continuous improvement and ensure that priorities are clear, achievable and aligned with strategic goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Leadership & Team Management
o Lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary product team, including developers, workflow and testers
o Create a high performing team built around Agile principles and emphasises continuous improvement and accountability.
o Help maintain a well-defined backlog and give clear priorities and direction to the team
o Facilitate team ceremonies and ensure good communication to Business Partnership, Head of Applications and other key stakeholders
o Drive performance of individuals and the team through KPI's, coaching and mentoring and formal 1-2-1's
o Work closely with Business Partner to ensure ROI targets are met, including corrective action following feedback from service delivery meetings
o Ensure individuals are delivering against objectives in quarterly reviews
o Model Company Values in personal work behaviours, decision making, contributions and interpersonal interactions
* Product Ownership & Delivery
o Partner with HOA and BP to define goals and deliverables
o Plan and track progress within the team and ensure on time delivery
o Collaborate with DevOps for delivery plans and release schedules
o Remove blockers from the teams work and help them deliver quality applications efficiently
o Ensure business resource is supplied during the design and planning phase and is available to complete projects on time
* Technical Oversight
o Ensure application design and architecture is followed and code/workflow quality is maintained in conjunction with the Software Architect
o Adhere to best development, coding and security practices
o Collaborate with other teams to ensure consistent standards across all product teams
o Provide technical support for the team where required
* Governance & Reporting
o Track team progress, risks and dependencies, report status to HOA
o Work with other teams to coordinate deployments to production
o Support audit and compliance activities relating to software delivery
