We are looking for a Production Manager. The role will manage a small team of 5–6 office‑based staff covering quoting, CAD drawing, and production planning, as well as a shopfloor team operating the production assets on a 24/5 shift pattern. As a dedicated business unit within the Dudley site, the team will work closely with internal sales and logistics functions to deliver high‑quality, value‑engineered solutions to customers across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
 * Lead and manage a combined team of office and shopfloor staff to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality production.
 * Oversee production across 4 flat‑bed lasers, 3 press brakes, and a water‑jet machine.
 * Ensure efficient processing of mild steel, stainless steel (various grades), and aluminium.
 * Manage day‑to‑day operations across a 24/5 shift pattern, ensuring capacity and productivity targets are met.
 * Work with sales teams across ASD Group UK to provide timely and accurate quotations.
 * Liaise directly with customers where required to support value engineering and product optimisation.
 * Develop and implement production schedules to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
 * Collaborate with Dudley site logistics for stock management, storage, and transport coordination.
 * Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness.
 * Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all operations.
Skills & Experience Required
 * Proven leadership and team‑management experience across both office‑based and shopfloor teams in a manufacturing or production environment.
 * Strong knowledge of flat steel processing, including laser cutting, press brake, and water‑jet operations.
 * Proficiency in CAD drawing and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
 * Commercial awareness with experience preparing quotes and working with sales teams.
 * Excellent planning, organisation, and problem‑solving skills, with experience managing 24/5 operations.
 * Strong communication skills to build effective working relationships across internal teams and with customers.
 * Ability to balance technical detail with commercial outcomes.
