The Role


As a Senior Software & Hardware (CEH) Assurance Practitioner you will be part of a team that provides an Independent Technical Assessment of the software of safety critical/related aircraft systems and provide advice on airworthiness issues related to those systems. Working on the latest military platforms (e.g. Typhoon), you will lead the assessment of third party software and/or software documentation for adequate safety and conformance to standards.

Day-to-day, you will provide SME level Hardware Assurance for QinetiQ, MOD and other external organisations in the Land, Martime, Space, Air, Weapons and other sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Conduct audits (Including SOIs) and reviews as the lead auditor/reviewer
2. Perform assessments of the software\hardware lifecycle and artefacts against software safety standards and ensure accuracy and quality of technical advice
3. Provide advice on how to conform to software\hardware Safety Standard
4. Estimate CEH assurance effort required for assurance tasks
5. Mentor project team members on CEH Safety Standards and Best Practice
6. Work across all software skill groups

Essential experience of the Senior Software & Hardware (CEH) Assurance Practitioner:

7. SME knowledge of complex Electronic Hardware
8. Good understanding of High Integrity Hardware Development (VHDL)
9. Experience of different hardware chipsets (FPGA, ASIC, PLC)
10. Understanding of the hardware lifecycle and processes
11. Expertise knowledge of CEH Standards (DO-254, EN EN 61508-2)
12. Ability to quickly apply and understand other CEH Safety Standards

Essential qualifications for the Senior Software & Hardware (CEH) Assurance Practitioner:

13. A chartered engineer or equivalent demonstrable experience.

This role is 37 hours per week based at Malvern. Hybrid working patterns are available.
