Our client, a long-standing and trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced MRP Controller to join their manufacturing operations team in Stevenage. This role is critical in managing manufacturing schedules, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the timely delivery of customer programmes. You will report to a senior member of the Manufacturing Planning & Control team and play a key role in supporting production efficiency and supply chain performance. Key Responsibilities:
Manage the timely and cost-effective provisioning of parts and internal services. Oversee supply chain activities to support lean manufacturing operations. Define and control detailed manufacturing plans to minimise inventory and work-in-progress. Provide regular updates on production status using effective reporting methods. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure material availability while maintaining optimal stock levels. Participate in cross-functional meetings, including IPTs, planning sessions, and supplier reviews. Assess the impact of task directive changes and new orders on inventory and delivery schedules. Promote manufacturing best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Utilise planning tools such as SAP, Inventory Control, and KPS, adapting to evolving processes. Manage the movement of hardware through the production lifecycle.
What do you need?:
Self-motivated and results-driven with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and customer service skills. Understanding of health and safety procedures and escalation protocols. Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related discipline is advantageous. Eagerness to learn and apply new knowledge in a dynamic environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, databases). Familiarity with Kanban and two-bin systems. Experience using production planning systems such as SAP. ESD training and awareness of health surveillance requirements are beneficial.
