Robert Half are partnering with a rapidly expanding manufacturing business (£140M t/o) as they look to appoint a new Financial Controller. We are seeking an ambitious Qualified Accountant, with a background in accounting principles, strong knowledge of UK taxation and filing requirements and skilled in Internal Controls.
Reporting to the Finance Director, as the Finance Controller you will play a key role in managing the finance reporting and administrative duties for the business. With the support of a dedicated team the Financial Controller will have responsibility for all statutory financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury management and transactional processing.
Key responsibilities:
1. Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
2. Implement and monitor internal controls related to financial reporting, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices.
3. Stay abreast of emerging accounting standards and provide guidance on their potential impact, ensuring compliance and effective communication across the organisation.
4. Develop and implement tax strategies, collaborating with tax advisors, and ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
5. Manage the company's cash flow, optimise liquidity, and oversee debt and investment activities to support the overall financial health of the organisation.
6. Manage the relationship with external auditors, coordinating audit activities, and addressing inquiries to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
Experience required:
7. A recognised accountancy qualification - ACA or ACCA
8. Proven experience in financial reporting, tax management
9. Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
10. Experience in managing financial audits and dealing with external auditors.
11. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
12. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
13. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
