Assistant Buyer - Argos Accessories, Smart & Imaging

The Commercial Buying team works with Digital, Marketing, Retail and Logistics to deliver for customers and supports your development with line-manager guidance.

What you\'ll do
You will contribute to delivering ambitious growth plans and offer customers a great range of products at competitive prices. Your responsibilities include:
* Developing the 3–6 month promotional strategy for your category
* Ensuring pricing accuracy across all channels
* Building supplier relationships and negotiating effectively
* Optimising the product range and considering the in-store experience
* Collaborating with the Product Development (PD) team and global sourcing to set quality criteria for own-label products
* Managing administrative duties and sample coordination in a fast-paced environment
Who you are
You are an experienced professional with a background in buying, preferably in retail, with strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent communication and organisational abilities, and the ability to work with UK suppliers and cross-functional teams. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a problem-solving mindset.
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience in commercial buying or merchandising
* Ability to work at pace and prioritise workload
* Strong knowledge of supplier relationship management
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work independently
