Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Assured Safety Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a charitable organisation offering the position of Health and Safety Manager. This is a part-time position (22.5 hours), based in Peterborough, with the unique opportunity to spend many of your working week outdoors in green open spaces.
As Health and Safety Manager, you will join a close-knit team, promoting a positive health and safety culture and providing direction for health and safety.
Your key responsibilities:
1. Provide advice, guidance, and support to employees and volunteers on all health, safety, and risk management matters.
2. Work with key stakeholders in planning and preparing the events programme, outdoor activities, and educational events to ensure appropriate health and safety measures are implemented.
3. Identify, develop, and maintain a programme of health and safety training for staff and volunteers.
4. Review, investigate, and act upon accidents, incidents, and near misses, including RIDDOR reporting.
5. Coordinate health and safety monitoring and performance, reporting to the Leadership Team and the Board.
6. Lead inspections of all buildings, plant, and public facilities to ensure proper recording and monitoring, and ensure remedial actions are implemented.
7. Ensure fire plans, fire risk assessments, and business continuity plans are current and reflective of personnel or process changes.
8. Review existing policies and practices related to safeguarding and support their development.
About You:
* Hold a minimum qualification of Nebosh Certificate or equivalent Level 3 qualification in health and safety.
* Have previous experience as a Health and Safety Advisor or Manager in a multi-site environment or for a multifaceted organization.
* Experience working in outdoor spaces, such as agricultural, leisure, events, charity, educational settings, grounds maintenance, or public sector, is desirable but not essential.
