Job Purpose
To provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing at all times. This includes assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, administering or supporting with medication (where appropriate), and maintaining a safe and supportive environment in accordance with care plans and CQC standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Personal Care & Support
Assist residents with washing, bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal grooming.
Support mobility needs, including safe use of hoists, wheelchairs, and walking aids.
Help residents with eating and drinking, including food preparation and feeding support.
Promote and encourage independence where possible.
2. Medication Awareness & Administration
Administer or support with medication in line with care plans and policies.
Keep accurate medication records and report any discrepancies immediately.
Monitor for side effects and escalate concerns to senior staff or nurses.
3. Health & Safety
Observe and monitor residents health and wellbeing, reporting changes promptly.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
Maintain a safe and clean living environment for residents.
4. Emotional & Social Support
Provide companionship and emotional reassurance to residents.
Engage residents in activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
Respect residents dignity, privacy, and cultural needs.
5. Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate care records and daily notes.
Report incidents, safeguarding concerns, and changes in health status.
Liaise effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, residents, and families.

Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in a care setting.
NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
Medication awareness
experience essential.
MAPA
or
PMVA
training (desirable).
Basic knowledge of safeguarding, moving & handling, and health & safety.
UK driving licence
and access to own car (preferred).
Working Hours
