We are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic echocardiographer to join us as a highly specialised cardiac physiologist with an expertise in congenital echocardiography. We are seeking to recruit an exceptionally skilled BSE-accredited Band 7 Echocardiographer who is also accredited in congenital echo (BSE or EACVI), who has a significant amount of experience scanning and reporting on patients with complex acquired and congenital pathology. You will need to have an in-depth understanding of surgical and interventional procedures used to treat or palliate congenital cardiac conditions, and be experienced in working with patients of all ages, from neonates to adults.

Responsibilities
* Performing and reporting on adult, adult congenital and paediatric echocardiograms to a high standard.
* To support the training and mentoring of junior physiologists, trainees and medical colleagues.
* To take on an array of management responsibilities including the day‑to‑day supervising of the echo department.
Qualifications
* Level 2 Adult BSE accreditation
* Congenital BSE or EACVI accreditation
* Experience performing echocardiograms on children and adults in challenging clinical situations
* Experience of teaching and training
We are a vibrant and diverse BSE‑accredited department, collectively performing around 30,000 echocardiograms each year on all ages. UHS offers fantastic training and development, giving you the best possible opportunities to achieve the career you want.
This post is open to part‑time applications only. Please include in your application the number of hours you wish to work.
Our department operates Monday to Saturday. You may be required to work on Saturdays and bank holidays on a rotational basis with a compensatory day off during the week. Although Southampton General is our main site, there will be a regular requirement to work across multiple sites including at community diagnostic centres.
