At A Tavola we're dedicated to serving exceptional food made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. We're now looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to take charge of our kitchen, inspire our team, and deliver a consistently outstanding dining experience.
Role Overview:
As Head Chef, you'll have full responsibility for the kitchen — from designing menus and managing stock to leading the brigade and maintaining the highest culinary and hygiene standards. This is a hands-on role for a chef who loves both cooking and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, train, and inspire the kitchen team.
Oversee food preparation and cooking to ensure consistency and quality.
Create and update menus with seasonal, cost-effective dishes.
Manage kitchen budgets, stock levels, and supplier relationships.
Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health standards.
Control portion sizes and minimise food waste.
Ensure smooth and efficient service, even during peak times.
We're Looking For:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy kitchen.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Creativity and a passion for fresh, high-quality food.
Excellent understanding of kitchen operations, stock control, and budgeting.
Level 2 or 3 Food Safety & Hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain).
Calm under pressure, well-organised, and a real team player.
