RPS Group has an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Water Team, working on long‑term water industry frameworks across the UK. This client‑facing role involves leading large flagship projects, managing delivery, and collaborating with senior colleagues for strategy and support.
About The Team
RPS Water Consulting is a multidisciplinary team of engineers, modelers, and data analysts dedicated to asset management and operational strategy for water industry clients. Our evolving sector offers challenges that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork.
About You
As a key member of the Water Consultancy business, you will help deliver capital delivery projects for water industry clients. You will join a team of experts to work on complex wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring strong project controls and significant technical contributions.
Your Responsibilities
* Support a growing commercial team to achieve high client satisfaction and positive outcomes.
* Apply a high level of technical capability and commercial knowledge.
* Understand drivers of cost and value, and capture & share knowledge to drive service innovation.
* Maintain a professional outlook with excellent communication skills.
* Deliver high‑quality quantity surveying and cost control services in relevant sectors.
* Travel to multiple sites as required by the client.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Work with the wider business and external professional teams to develop sourcing and contracting solutions.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
* Support sourcing strategies and provide analytical data.
* Lead tender pack development, evaluation and award.
* Negotiate and analyse costs for tenders and contracts.
* Monitor contractor and supplier performance against contract terms.
* Implement cost‑saving strategies.
* Certify progress payments and manage disputes and claims.
* Maintain accurate project financial records.
* Collaborate on programmes with diverse interfaces and cultures.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Valid driving licence.
* ICS chartered status or willingness to progress towards chartership.
