Freelance Quantity Surveyor (Civils) needed, Liverpool.

Hays are partnered with a well-established civil engineering contractor, operating nationally, who are seeking a freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support delivery of a long-term highways framework in the North West.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
* Manage commercial delivery of asphalt surfacing schemes under NEC4 contracts.
* Oversee subcontractor procurement, payments, and change control.
* Lead cost forecasting, valuations, and reporting across multiple workstreams.
* Handle compensation events and ensure NEC4 compliance.
* Collaborate with delivery teams and maintain strong client relationships.
* Monitor risks, performance, and framework KPIs.
What you'll need to succeed:
* Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts is essential
* Previous UK-based experience is essential. You will not be considered without
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in highways or civil engineering.
* Experience working on frameworks for local authorities or public sector clients.
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
